Fabricated Designer Beads                                     with Don Roberts
Techniques for creating a fabulous focal point

By combining several basic metalworking skills, you can create a dynamic focal point to your designs -- start by texturing, cutting and forming an assortment of metal, and then make the connection to create the bead using hot & cold techniques -- rivets, tabs, soldering and much more!  A great opportunity to explore the potential of an exciting alternative to other focal design techniques -- you'll never say "just" a bead again!

Tools & Materials Fee - $25                       (or you may bring your own)

                                                                     with Stefan Alexandres
Learn this technique to create volume and dimension in your work.  Stefan will bring the hammers and tools necessary -- all you need to bring is metal & earplugs.
Copper is the best metal to learn this technique, and a selection of 30 gauge and 24 gauge copper will be good choices to bring.  You can often find small sheets of copper available at Ace Hardware or other building supply places -- roofing companies and scrap yards could be other local sources.  To order materials online, check out www.basiccopper.com for good prices when buying in bulk -- share an order with a friend to save $ on materials & shipping. Locally, FDJ on Time www.fdjtools.com also carries metal - stop by their Winter Park showroom -- as well as your favorite jewelry supply stores.
